PROJECTS
Theory as an experience
This collage was created by collecting images that have a sentimental meaning and reminders of home. This was a group project and we showed that even though we are from various different places we are still tied together through Liberty and the interior design program. We showed that we all have similar interest such as water and nature, and we each had a place where we sought comfort.
This project was created by Ava Morehead, Cortney Leap, and Payton Powers.
Gestalt Theory of Symmetry
This project represents the Gestalt theory of symmetry. This is shown in the model with the chairs being the same and sitting across from one another with a center piece in between.
Roller Coaster Cart
This was designed using the gestalt theory of symmetry. This is shown throughout the model by the symmetrical sides of the cart as well as the people being symmetrical to one another. This design is apart of the roller coaster project below.
Roller Coaster
This project was a group project, where each designer used their previous gestalt theory and combined it with other gestalt theories. The two theories represented in this model are symmetry and continuation. Symmetry is represented in the cart as each piece of the cart is symmetrical to each other. Continuation is seen in the track of the model; the track creates a continuous pattern.
This project was built by Ava Morehead and Emily Shepard.
Design Theory Project
This project was created to show how technology (social media) is able to' effect the ways of design. For this project, I created a 3D model to represent the way social media is able to influence designs. Social media effects the design process by generating new ideas and trends. This model was created using references from different popular 2025 social media trends.
SKETCHES
Color Theory:
Sketches for color theory. I created a color wheel that showed each color, I then created a creative way to show color theory by sketching a bat and coloring it with the colors on a color wheel.
Symbolic Interactions sketches
This sketch are three things that are located in my home that have a significant meaning to each one
Design Theory Sketches
This sketch shows different sketches of what I wanted to build my 3D model to look like and what all I needed in it
There is also a mind map that helps to find out what I needed for my model
Interior Ecosystem Sketches
These sketches represent three types of environments: Social, Natural, and Built.
For the social sketch I drew a cafeteria where people would go to socialize and eat
For the Natural I drew very open building with lots of plants that grow on and around the building. It is the way man interacts with nature.
My last sketch is a combination of natural, built, and social and it shows a living room with a lot of natural light and some plants to show the nature aspects of interior ecosystems.
